Opportunities for handling, listening and method ringing, for learners and the more advanced, and also setting up and using simulators for those interested in having an installation.
Details have not been finalised, but current thinking is to have two distinct sessions - morning and afternoon. You could come to both, or choose to attend only one.
Here is the plan thus far:
10.00 – 10.30 Tea and talk about simulators, hardware introduction, muffling the bells, setting up
Abel. Demonstrate ringing with moving figures.
10.30 – 11.30. Ringing by listening. Split group, and move round workstations. Ringing rounds,
covering, leading, then inside. 20 minutes each station.
Group 1: In tower. 3 can ring at same time.
Group 2: Listening exercises, Abel, Beltower and CD’s
Group 3: Using Wombel
11.30 12.30 General ringing as a band using simulator, basic methods and concentrating on
12.30 – 1.30 Lunch, with optional video displays (Whiting society), Abel with handbells,
1.30 – 2.30 Ringing solo watching screen. Ringing methods.
Group 1: In tower, 3 can ring solo at same time. Up to 12 bells per ringer.
Group 2: Mastering Abel by watching ropes, counting and rhythm. Ringing using methodology.
Group 3: Wombel solo watching screen.
2.30. Tea and biscuits.
2.45 to 4pm. General ringing on eight. Up to surprise major.
4pm Questions and wind up session.
