Saturday, 08 June 2019 Starting at 3pm
On Saturday 8th June we are having a 'fun' striking competition and our AGM, at Bramley.
This year we are having a call change competition with the names for the teams picked out of a hat. Each team will include two people who have never rung in a striking competition before, two people who have rung in one or more striking competitions previously but don't consider themselves experienced ringers, and two experienced ringers. Teams will have plenty of time to get used to the bells and practise before they ring their 'test piece'. One of the two experienced ringers in each team will be a friendly 'team leader' and is there to help their team to ring to the best of their ability (and probably call the call changes as well!).
If you would like to be a 'team leader', we would like to hear from you.
If you would like to ring in the striking competition, then come along and have a go - it doesn't matter if you're a relative novice - you won't be on your own! Don't think that it's only for experienced ringers, this is for everyone, and we want everyone to come along and join in.
A 'training course' to help you develop your listening skills will take place while the striking competition is in progress to keep you busy whilst you are not ringing.
3.15pm - Draw for striking competition teams
3.30pm - Striking competition starts
While striking competition is going on there will be 'listening skill activities'.
5pm - Ringers' tea
6pm (approx.) AGM (Items for the agenda include changing the date of the branch AGM to earlier in the year, and election of the Branch Secretary, Education Committee Representative and Webmaster.)
If people are interested in evening ringing, then please ask.
