Selby and District

Selby and District Branch Home page

Selby and District is one of the newest and smallest Branches of the Yorkshire Association.  It is home to some of the jewels in the crown of the bells of Yorkshire (if not the country).

We have a dedicated core of active members.  What we lack in ability we make up for with enthusiasm.  Inclusivity and informality is the key to our success.

As well as practice nights at local towers to which everyone is welcome our activities are centred around monthly evening practices alternating between Surprise Methods and Rounds/ Plain Bob.

We hold a hotly contested annual Striking Competition – the winners of which have historically gone on to be placed in the Association Striking Competition.

The Committee’s stated aim is to secure regular ringing at all towers in the Branch and to encourage the interaction of ringers and ringing at all levels and locations so as to enable all ringers to reach their chosen level of achievement/ involvement in our Exercise.
